Young gun Jayden Jones is on his way to being an honorary judge at Monster Jam® at QSAC Nathan on October 1st, after dominating the Slideways Go Karting World Monster Jam® Race Day.
The event was the first ever sprint race hosted on the Gold Coast venues’ 700m long Nurburgring Circuit, with regular racers from the Slideways Go Karting World Enduro Series coming to the forefront.
Jones to date in 2016 has been anchoring TSR’s series leading efforts in the Enduro Series, and in sprint mode he once again showed the field a clean pair of heels, running away to a 7sec victory after 13 laps in the major final.
Also on their way to Monster Jam® are Global Action Photography’s Peter Brown, who made his way up into second position after some impressive early race passes, while Ryan Jones was only 2sec off Brown in third place at the chequered flag.
The battle for fourth position was one of the highlights of the day, with Tim Hatton, Trevor Mortimer, Michael Seeto and Joel Dimmack all covered by less than a second at the completion of the race.
Rounding out the main race finishers were Jack Hughes, Nissan GT Academy finalist Keishi Ayukai, who rebounded strongly after being forced off at the start, then Dayne Perandis, James Shields and Joel Cook.
In the pre-final, regular Enduro Series competitor Adam Woods stormed through to register an easy 10sec victory over Richard Kelly and Todd Alistar.
Despite some light rain at times, all competitors received their full compliment of 10 minutes practice, 10 minutes qualifying, and 10 minute of racing.
The event also counted towards the Sodi World Series Sprint Cup, with further regular races set to kick off in 2017. Competitors are encouraged to register their interest on the Slideways Go Karting World Race Days page to be kept up to date with the latest racing news.
The day could not have been possible without the awesome support of Monster Jam®, the world’s largest and most famous monster truck tour featuring the biggest names in monster trucks.
The next event on the Slideways Go Karting World calendar is the third round of the Enduro Series on Sunday October 2, with the race to Pepsi Max National Hire Kart Challenge hitting overdrive with triple points on offer.
A majority of the starting slots in the field are already accounted for, with competitors urged to contact Slideways Go Karting World on (07) 5546 6566 to reserve a starting spot.
